Many thanks to our fine volunteers for the long hours that were put in and for the incredible job they did during this event. I can't tell you how many positive comments I received from various sources about how well things went. I think it's safe to say that the event was a huge success compared to last year.
There are too many people to thank individually so a huge "Well done!" to everyone involved. Some of our members spent a lot of personal time on their weekends driving the route and testing APRS coverage to ensure a successful event. There were countless hours involved with generating maps, publishing APRS waypoints, and misc other activities that all played into the final outcome.
I had the opportunity to talk to a number of ADA staff and the comments were glowing. Everybody went the extra mile and the SAG drivers felt much safer being able to focus on driving rather than talking on the phone. The high praise came not only from Kimberly Lewis, the local Tour Director, but literally all the way to the top. Nicole Preston, director of national campaign development at the ADA, commented that out of 80 events hosted annually the Jacksonville Tour de Cure is the only event utilizing technology the way we do. Well done everyone!
